| Quality and Productivity Program |
The Group embarked on a journey to transform its people and operating culture through the implementation of three major quality initiatives. The first program is to deploy our own Total Quality Management initiative coined Quality and Productivity Program (QPP). The second is to attain ISO9000 certification and the third is self-assessment using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria. |
|
The Quality and Productivity Program (QPP) was kicked-off in Lam Soon in April 1998 with the declaration of the new group Vision and Mission. The goal of the QPP program is to instill a quality culture through out the organisation so that our customers get the best products and services we can offer. We have deployed a company wide education program to set a common quality language, provided employees with problem solving tools, and created a framework where problem solving teams may flourish. In year 20000, there are 47 quality action teams working on various projects throughout the group. |

ISO9000 has been a widely recognised standard for companies wanting to do business globally. Some plants of the Group were awarded ISO9002 Certification, which signifies the Group's commitment to meet world class standards. The plants are: |
| |
1、Hong Kong Evergreen oil plants;
2、Shekou flour mill; and
3、Shekou oil refinery. |

The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criterias (MBNQA) have been used internationally as the benchmark for business excellence. In Lam Soon, we have decides to adopt this criteria as a self-assessment tools to gauge our progress in our effort to become world class. The MBNQA consists of seven catergories which include Leadership, Strategic Planning, Customer and Market Focus, Information and Analysis, Human Resource Development & Management, Process Management and Business Results. Our goal for the next three years is to achieve a minimum level of having a sound, systematic approach that is responsive to the overall purpose of the criteria, and a fact-based, systematic evaluation and improvement process that is aligned with the basic organisational needs. |
